John Iles is a can-do kinda guy. Our first job had several very unusual and challenging aspects (curved and angled walls and floor, to name just two). One floorer—to his credit in terms of honesty—said that it was just plain above his head. Contrastingly, John—to his credit—said, "I've never done anything like that, but I'd like to, and will figure out how." And to his credit, he did, and did so well. He also went beyond the role of floorer, contributing to other aspects of the job. Further, when we realized that we hadn't thought of something mid-job, John was able to roll with improvised solutions that ended up looking like they were actually part of the original plan. His second job with us had other unusual "never-done-it-before" aspects, and John researched those too, and executed them well. His work consistently bring oohs and ahs from all who see it.

Great work! I waited to replace my hideous bathroom until I felt I wouldn’t be cheated on quality or price. John Iles was highly professional, courteous and brought an artful eye in advising on materials and redesign. When he and his team started work, my 1898 building offered the standard difficulties by way of structural surprises. He met them with grace and ingenuity, suggesting a beautiful variation in the wall that actually improved its value and adds class. They tackled, floor, tile, sink, tub, fixtures, paint and lighting, and refinished wood floors in the front of the condo as well. John was prompt, got the work done on time in spite of the surprises, and gave me a very fair price. I would recommend him to anyone who is highly selective about contractors or stumped by the same kind of dark, cramped, wretched bathroom mine used to be."

“John Iles has done a lot of work for both my family and my business in the past few years. He did a beautiful job renovating a bathroom at our house, converting a tub and shower to a handicapped accessible shower and proved to be a very hard worker with great attention to detail. He also built out the office space for my business and I don't think I've ever seen anyone work so hard and diligently to get the job done quickly and beautifully. He designed a series of work stations out of re-purposed Brazilian cherry flooring that are a work of art. Everyone comments on them when they come to our office and notes on their beautiful craftsmanship and style. He also installed our carpet, built out a conference room with sheetrock, adding an old window for access to natural light, installed lighting and re-did the half bath in our office with new fixtures and flooring. He was quick to come back if there was ever a minor problem, as well.
I'm sorry that he has moved out of the area, because I would use him again in a second do more work for me personally, my clients and my business.”

I called John on a Monday and asked him if he had time to come over and help me measure so I could buy some carpet for my downstairs. He came right over and I went and bought carpet that day. I had no way to get it home so he borrowed a truck and picked it up and had it installed by Wednesday. I really appreciated him moving some things around to speed up the install and get the job done early. He was very professional and helpful. I would highly recommend him to friends and family and will look to him for further installs. Thank You, John.

Big shout-out to Mr. John Iles (Floors by John) for a job well done one our hardwood floors. Mr. Iles was thoughtful, very prompt, responsive, and exceedingly professional. With 30-years doing this sort of work, his refinishing work is very through and flawless. He did a great job, we would engage him again if needed and we can easily recommend him.
